Upward Bound/Talent Search

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Upward Bound/Talent Search uses educational, cultural, and social experiences to encourage low-income students and students whose parents did not graduate from a four-year college to complete high school and to pursue a college education. Upward Bound received its initial funding at Virginia Tech in 1967. Talent Search was first funded in 1973.
